The ingredients needed to prepare ‘Kushikatsu’ Skewers:

  1. Prepare 500 g of Beef, Lamb OR Pork *cut into 2-3cm pieces.
  2. Use of Salt & Pepper.
  3. Take of Additional Vegetable *e.g. Capsicum, seasonal sweet Onion, Okra, thick Spring Onion, Mushrooms, etc.

  5. You need of Breadcrumbs *fine type recommended.
  6. Use of Oil for frying.
  7. Take of ‘Tonkatsu’ Sauce OR Sauce of your choice.
  8. Prepare of Batter.
  9. You need 1/2 cup of Plain Flour.
  10. You need 1 pinch of Salt.
  11. You need 1 of Egg.
  12. You need 1/4 cup of Water.
  13. Prepare 1/4 cup of Milk.

Instructions to make ‘Kushikatsu’ Skewers:

  1. Cut Meat and Vegetables into similar bite-size pieces. Thread them onto skewers. Lightly season with Salt & Pepper..
  2. To make batter, mix all ingredients until smooth..
  3. Heat Oil to 170 to 180℃. Dip a skewer in the batter (OR cover with the batter using a spoon), and drain excess batter. Then coat with Breadcrumbs. Fry until cooked through and golden, and place on a rack and drain the oil. I recommend to cook only a few skewers at a time..
