The ingredients needed to make Mokimo:

  1. You need 1 of gorogoro potatoes.
  2. Provide 2 tbs of Thafai powder.
  3. Prepare 2 of maize.
  4. Use 80 ml of cooking oil.
  5. Provide 1 tsp of salt.

Instructions to make Mokimo:

  1. Dondoa maize from cob and place in a sufuria.
  2. Add 2cups water and salt then cover for it to boil..
  3. Peel potatoes as maize boils. After 20minutes check to see if maize is cooked.
  4. Add peeled potatoes to boiled maize and more water to it..
  5. When potatoes are cooked which takes around 10-15minutes turn off heat and start mashing the potatoes.
  6. Add thafai powder and a little more salt as you mash..
  7. When completely mashed place on low heat for a few minutes for mokimo to heat up make sure to keep on turning then turn off heat and serve while hot.
