The ingredients needed to prepare Orange Marmalade/Jam:
- Provide 1 kg of Nagpur oranges.
- Get 500 gr of sugar.
- Take 200 ml of water.
- Provide 1 tsp of lemon juice.
- Provide 1/4 of orange rind (very strong flavour for Nagpur oranges.).
- Get 1/2 pinch of salt.
Instructions to make Orange Marmalade/Jam:
- Peel the oranges and remove all the seeds. Long slit the orange wedge on the fleshy part and remove the seeds.
- Put all the oranges in the blender,add the sugar,and blend it..
- Scrape all the white part of the peel and finely chop the rind.(Can use one full orange rind if it's other oranges).
- Take a wide vessel and turn on the heat. Add the blended orange, water,salt,rind. Add the lemon juice once it comes to boil and keep stirring very frequently. (Add a pinch of powdered cinnamon if you like the flavour).
- After the colour starts changing and it's bubbling..stir continuously till you get a jam like texture..
- Let it cool and transfer it into an air tight glass jar or container and store it in the refrigerator..
