The ingredients needed to cook Raw Mango Chutney:

  1. Get 1 of medium size firm raw mango, grated.
  2. Use 1 tsp of oil.
  3. You need 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds.
  4. You need 1 tbsp of coriander seeds.
  5. Prepare 3-4 of garlic, chopped.
  6. Take 1-2 of fresh green / red chilies.
  7. Prepare 1 sprig of curry leaves.
  8. Provide 1 tbsp of fresh grated coconut.
  9. Provide to taste of salt.
  10. You need 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder.
  11. Prepare 1 tbsp of red chilli powder.
  12. Get of Tempering -.
  13. Prepare 1 tbsp of oil.
  14. Use 1/2 tsp of mustard seeds.
  15. Take 1 tsp of urad dal (split black gram).
  16. Provide 1 sprig of curry leaves.

Steps to make Raw Mango Chutney:

  1. Heat 1 tsp. oil in a pan and fry the cumin seeds, coriander seeds, urad dal, garlic, curry leaves and fresh green / red chilies till it turns slightly brown in colour..
  2. Add the grated mango and fry for two minutes on a low flame. Add the salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and the coconut. Mix well and fry for a few seconds..
  3. Switch off the flame and leave it aside to cool. Then grind with a little water till smooth in consistency..
  4. Heat 1 tbsp. in a pan for the tempering. Add the mustard seeds and allow it to splutter. Then add the urad dal and curry leaves. Fry for a few seconds till the dal changes colour..
  5. Pour this tempering over the ground chutney. Mix well and serve as a side dish with dosa, idli, uttapam, appam, rice-ghee combo, paratha or chapatti..
